Designer Denim for Charity
Children on the Edge has formed an ongoing partnership with directional denim brand Ruby London who have designed a limited edition pair of jeans with more than 10% of the profits going to the charity. Kate Eccles, the designer behind Ruby London, places a large focus on ethical fashion and promoting positive messages in the industry.
Through her links with Children on the Edge, Kate worked with the people of Burma to design a pair of limited edition jeans to raise funds for the charity. She chose organic cotton, slim fit Rennie Jeans in dusty pink and midnight blue and normal cotton in black, white and summer grey – bang on trend for 09. The iconic Ruby back yoke features an embroidered traditional Burmese proverb: ‘Children are our most precious treasure’, written in Burmese.
Kate comments: “I believe we are all responsible and capable of using our talents to unite and support people around the world. I have used my talents, combined with those of the children in Burma, to create a jean to raise worldwide awareness and change, so fashion can make a difference. Don’t just talk about it, walk it with love and please support Ruby London and Children on the Edge, by buying the limited edition Rennie jean, to raise funds and create a change for these amazing people in Burma.”
The limited edition Children on the Edge design for Ruby London is priced at £98 and is AVAILABLE NOW from Fenwick, House of Fraser, Area, Ethic and www.rubylondon.com.
