12,000 steps for 12,000 refugee children

Children on the Edge exists to help over 15,000 marginalised and forgotten children, who are living on the edge of their societies.

12,000 of these are refugees, often living in cramped camps and settlements with no access to education or support.

Walk to help make a difference
Amu is 13-year old. He fled the Rohingya genocide in Myanmar with his family in 2017 and has lived in Kutupalong refugee camp in Bangladesh ever since.  Every day he goes to one of the 75 schools we support here, along with his friends, and says he really enjoys working on all the class activities set by the teachers, who have already taught him to read, write, and count.

Now, Amu can not only write his name and parents’ names, he can go to the market and buy things on his own. He can add up the prices of items he needs to buy and work out the correct change. He loves being able to apply what he has learnt this way.

Listen out for our new 12,000 steps advert on Spirit FM radio.
Thank you to Spirit FM for generously donating the airtime.
