We currently work with more than 17,000 children in Bangladesh, India, Lebanon, Myanmar and Uganda.

BANGLADESH

KUTUPALONG REFUGEE SETTLEMENT
​​​EDUCATION FOR ROHINGYA REFUGEE CHILDREN

We have been working in Kutupalong, now the world's largest refugee camp, since 2010 and currently support education for nearly 5000 Rohingya refugee children who are cut off from education. Colourful learning centres encourage creativity and self expression with award winning digital lessons, plenty of play and basic health support.

On Bhasan Char Island, in the Bay of Bengal, Rohingya refugee children have been moved to ease crowding in Kutupalong camp on the mainland.

​Children on the Edge have set up ten model classrooms for 1,300 refugee children, offering vital education and support so children can thrive.

​EDUCATION FOR SLUM DWELLING CHILDREN ​

In the slums of Cox’s Bazar and the Doharazi Enclaves, Children on the Edge offer education for 1,700 children.

Flexible classes allow access to quality learning, creativity and play for working children and those who face other practical or financial barriers to attending school.

​INDIA: PATNA​
COMMUNITY SUPPORT AND EDUCATION FOR DALIT CHILDREN ​

Children on the Edge support 35 Learning Centres in Patna, Bihar State; offering education to around 1,200 Dalit children who are trapped in a cycle of poverty and exclusion. To build a protective environment for these children in their wider community, we also support 92 Women’s Groups to learn about and realise their rights. ​

​LEBANON: BEKAA VALLEY
​​EDUCATION FOR SYRIAN REFUGEE CHILDREN ​

Children on the Edge has been supporting education for around 200 Syrian refugee children living in Bekaa Valley since 2015. Initially based in four tent schools and now in one central building in Zahle, children benefit from safe, fun classrooms, a bespoke curriculum, vocational courses and a large outdoor playspace.

MYANMAR: KACHIN STATE​
​EARLY YEARS EDUCATION FOR DISPLACED KACHIN CHILDREN

Children on the Edge supports 15 preschool centres for 500 displaced Kachin children in some of the most isolated, high altitude settlements of Kachin State, offering high quality early childhood education, play and expert care for 3-6 year olds. Colourful centres give the children a chance to learn, play and recover from trauma.

UGANDA

JINJA
​TRANSFORMING SLUM COMMUNITIES

Children on the Edge work with six slum communities surrounding Jinja. Child Protection Teams are supported to create protective environments for their children; keeping them safe from abuse, neglect and exploitation. Two Early Childhood Development centres support the youngest children in Loco and Wandago.​

Children on the Edge work with communities in the Napak district of Karamoja, northern Uganda to help make them safer for children. Replicating our Child Protection Team model used in Jinja, we are working with communities here to create protective environments for children.
