Not only was our sixth annual Chichester Half Marathon breaking fundraising records this year, but 2017 has seen some incredible fundraising from our wonderful supporters across the UK. Here’s just a few highlights…
In April, teenagers, Ollie and Theo took on an epic kayak race down the Thames over the Easter weekend, raising £1529. Soon after Sarah, Kelly, Paul and Andrew ran the Brighton Marathon in unseasonably hot weather, raising £4230 between them.
We also saw some creative fundraising from Shellingford Primary School in Oxford, who spent the school year organising a series of events to raise £4871 for our tented schools in Lebanon.
Louise and Martin from Reflections Nursery got muddy for Children on the Edge at a Tough Mudder event raising £1085 in September. Other fundraising runners included George, who ran the Venice Marathon in October and Nicola, who ran the Great North Run. They raised £1894 between them.
Last but certainly not least, we can’t forget to mention all our amazing The Body Shop At Home consultants who devote their time throughout the whole year to fundraise for us at parties or by taking on a challenge. In September, these wonderful women (and men) helped to raise £24,000 in just one day at The Body Shop At Home conference in Telford, by buying goody bags of donated products.
Fundraising from individuals and groups like this really makes a huge difference and we’d like to thank all of our supporters for your donations, your encouragement and your incredible range of fundraising activities in 2017! If you’re keen to take on a challenge next year or know someone who is, please get in touch.
Thank you for reading and sharing our stories and being part of everything we and the communities we serve, have achieved this year.
