Lebanon Emergency Appeal
Help Families Displaced By Attacks
Recent Israeli attacks in Lebanon have killed and injured thousands of people and caused the displacement of over a million civilians, who are fleeing the south of the country. Public schools have been converted into shelters, and there are growing concerns about a severe humanitarian crisis. Right now, our local partners in Beirut are providing hot meals for families uprooted by escalating airstrikes. |
Please donate today and help our local partners support Lebanese families.
Our Response
Our partners from TM Lebanon are providing hot meals for displaced people in Beirut, who have lost everything.
They began distributing hot meals and are now setting up communal 'cooking stations', supplied with ingredients for families to cook for themselves. They will continue to provide hot meals but can only cook for 600-700 people. So these cooking stations will help to reach hundreds more families. £150

Current Situation
Recent Israeli attacks in Lebanon are part of the escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, the militant group based in southern Lebanon. The attacks, which began in response to rising tensions in the region, have resulted in airstrikes targeting Hezbollah positions and other infrastructure.
This has led to significant displacement of civilians, who are fleeing the south of the country to escape the violence. UN estimates there are already a million displaced people seeking refuge in public schools or sleeping on the ground in parks, which is 20% of the total Lebanese population.
There are limited resources to deal with the influx of people. Schools have been converted into shelters for the displaced, but they do not have adequate facilities to support people. There are concerns about a growing humanitarian crisis, especially as winter approaches. Many people from the south of the country, who rely on agriculture, have not only lost their homes, and possessions, but also their livelihoods, as their fields have been destroyed in the bombings.
