On Friday 9th July, the Edward Cooke Family Law team set off from their office in Chilgrove, near Chichester, walking 42 miles across the South Downs Way, finishing at their office in Hove. The team of nine walked for 22 hours over the weekend reaching their Hove office on Sunday evening. Together the team has raised over £4,000 for Children on the Edge and despite their challenge being finished they haven’t stopped fundraising and have set themselves a target of £5,000! The law firm made the decision to support Children on the Edge because of the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had in relation to children’s access to education. They told us, “ As a team of specialist family lawyers, the team appreciates how difficult this must be for families all around the world, and feel that it is important now more than ever, to help support young people to access education.”
Children on the Edge Fundraising Manager Eloise Armstrong said, “The pandemic has had a huge impact for the children we work with, classrooms have been closed and communities have faced long periods of lockdown. Our partners have worked tirelessly to ensure that children are kept safe and can continue their learning."
