February Fundraising Highlights from Children on the Edge

1/3/2022

Picture
It was fantastic to see so many of our young supporters getting involved and fundraising for us in February. Walking, cycling and colouring to help make a difference. Take a look at some of the fantastic fundraising that took place in February …
Fantastic Finn walks 30 miles in February
11-year-old Finn decided that he wanted to fundraise for Children on the Edge. Finn loves to be outdoors, so together with his mum Kelly they decided to set a challenge to complete 30 miles in February. Throughout the month, they clocked up the miles exploring their local area, even borrowing Finn’s cousin’s dog Boris for some of their adventures. Finn smashed his challenge, completing all 30 miles in 28 days and raising an amazing £190 for Children on the Edge.

Colouring for Children on the Edge
Last month Shaz Beer decided to hold a colouring competition for children in her Body Shop at Home region, Phoenix Flyers. The colouring competition gave children an opportunity to get creative and find out more about Children on the Edge and the work that we do at the same time. Lots of children got involved, sending in their colourful artworks. The competition was a great success raising £45 and Shaz has sent us some of the brilliant entries. Check them out below.

Emelia and Olivia cycle to make a difference
Sisters Emelia (aged 8) and Olivia (aged 5) cycled 10 miles along Seaton Seafront in February. The sisters decided to take on the challenge 'to help people, because everyone should have a chance to go to school.' Their mum Jessica said, “I'm super proud of them for completing the full 10 miles. We’ve had rain and bad winds but they’ve done absolutely amazingly - and they’ve raised £185!”  Emelia told us that it made her feel good to be able to help and she had great fun doing the challenge!
