Raquel Margo and her son Ori took part last year, holding a driveway cake bake event. She told us,

"We had a great time holding our very own Big October Cake Bake event. We pitched up outside our house and sold treats to passersby. It was a great way to meet our neighbours and to tell them about Children on the Edge at the same time! We also took cakes to some of our elderly neighbours who couldn't walk to us. Our driveway cake bake raised £100 and we can’t wait for this year’s event.”

Every brew, every bake and every bite can help refugee children to live, learn, play and thrive.

Support from The Big October Cake Bake will help children like Achmida Bibi. Achmida and her family fled their village in Myanmar during the 2017 genocide and now live in the world’s largest refugee camp, Kutupalong in Bangladesh.

Achmida is a student at one of the learning centres that Children on the Edge supports in the camp. Achmida always dreamed about studying and going to school but thought it would never come true.

Achmida is very proud to be able to help her family with the things that she has learnt at school.
She uses her reading and maths skills every day, helping her family read signs, explaining medicine prescriptions and buying goods from the market.

We would love you to sign up for The Big October Cake Bake, whether you organise a bake sale in your office or gather your friends for a cuppa and a slice of cake, you will be helping to make a difference for refugee children.
