After a hugely successful event last year, The Big October Cake Bake is back for 2022. This Autumn, bake to make a difference for refugee children around the world. Invite your friends for a tea party, organise a bake sale or get competitive and hold a bake-off competition.
Everyone who signs up receives a free host pack which is stuffed full of games, decorations, and recipes to help you plan your own event. There’s even an exclusive chocolate brownie recipe from our friends at Montezuma’s Chocolates.
Raquel Margo and her son Ori took part last year, holding a driveway cake bake event. She told us,
"We had a great time holding our very own Big October Cake Bake event. We pitched up outside our house and sold treats to passersby. It was a great way to meet our neighbours and to tell them about Children on the Edge at the same time! We also took cakes to some of our elderly neighbours who couldn't walk to us. Our driveway cake bake raised £100 and we can’t wait for this year’s event.”
Every brew, every bake and every bite can help refugee children to live, learn, play and thrive.
She uses her reading and maths skills every day, helping her family read signs, explaining medicine prescriptions and buying goods from the market.
We would love you to sign up for The Big October Cake Bake, whether you organise a bake sale in your office or gather your friends for a cuppa and a slice of cake, you will be helping to make a difference for refugee children.
