Sign up for 12,000 Steps
Earlier this year we launched our new virtual event 12,000 steps for 12,000 refugee children.

Since the launch we have been delighted to see so many people signing up, getting active and walking to help make a difference to the 12,000 refugee children we support.
Long term Children on the Edge supporters, Store Property who are based in Chichester, were the first team to sign up for the 12,000 steps challenge.

12 members of the team - Sarah, Stuart, Dan, Paul, Eirene, Matt, Ross, Gary, Reg, Daryl, Sam and Tina, walked 12,000 steps throughout May raising over £1,400.

Mel taking part in the 12,000 steps challenge
Local runner Mel Arens from Emsworth saw a post about 12,000 steps on Facebook and thought that it could be the perfect challenge to motivate her to get running again. She signed up and decided to run, walk or jog 10k everyday until she hit her fundraising goal.

She said “I really enjoyed the challenge thank you for organising it - I clocked up over 95,000 steps last week - I think that is nearly two marathons ...which I definitely wouldn't have done otherwise!”
As well as local support from people signing up, we are also grateful to local radio station Spirit FM, who donated free airtime to promote the 12,000 steps challenge across West Sussex.

Fundraising Officer Jordan Day said; “It’s been fantastic to have so much support for our first virtual event. We’ve had people sign up from all around the country, locally in Sussex and from much further afield. That’s the brilliant thing about 12,000 steps, it doesn’t matter where you live anyone can get involved!”

This summer we would love you to join us for the 12,000 steps challenge, and walk to bring hope, life, colour and fun to the 12,000 refugee children we support.
